Abstract

Abstract

The role of Nonprofit Organizations (NPOs) in recent years, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic has become particularly important. Nonprofits have a significant place in economic and social activities today but also constitute a large portion of employment in developed countries. NPOs are essential institutional actors in mobilizing regional economic growth and development, community growth and development, motivating people, and implementing social assistance programs to support government efforts at the grassroots level. There are almost 12.5 million paid workers employed by U.S. nonprofit establishments (Salamon& Newhouse, 2020). NPOs are gaining an important place in the American economy. They make significant contributions to employment, employee compensation, and expenditures on goods and services. Nonprofit organizations are a very broad sector that covers many areas from health and education services to social services, women's rights, animal rights, human rights, environmental management and so forth. This research highlights the growing importance of NPOs in the economy and draws attention to the rise of individual giving.
